Can I book more than one bungalow?

Yes. Book one bungalow, any two, or all three. Reserve each bungalow for the same dates and we will confirm them together.

Is there a minimum stay?

Yes, 3 nights all year round. Weekly stays are charged at the nightly rate.

When are low and high season?

Low season runs April 16 to December 14. High season runs December 15 to April 15. A single booking stays within one season.

What are the holiday rates?

Christmas, New Year’s, Easter, Carnaval and the Feria are charged at double the high-season rate ($178 for Yellow or Orange, $250 for Purple), from three days before the celebration to three days after.

Payment is in cash, on arrival. Your stay is confirmed once we approve your request.

What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. We do not have a 24-hour reception, so please confirm your arrival time at least 48 hours ahead.

What is shared and what is private?

Your bungalow is private. The boathouse kitchen and lounge, two bathrooms with hot showers, the decks, the garden and the sea ladder are shared with the other two bungalows.

Can I swim from the property?

Yes. A ladder runs from the deck straight into the sea.

Sheets, towels and toiletries, a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, instant hot water and internet.

Are children and pets welcome?

We are not able to host pets or children under 10.

How far is downtown Bocas Town?

A seven-minute walk, with restaurants, dive shops, bike rentals and water taxis to the islands.

Can you help me book tours?

Yes. Our manager can help you book snorkeling, diving, island hops and more when you arrive.

Your own little corner of the Caribbean

Slip through the garden gate and Bocas Town goes quiet behind you. A stepping-stone path winds past hibiscus and banana palms to three bungalows painted purple, yellow and orange, and beyond them the boathouse stands on stilts over clear green water.

Spend your days on the reefs, beaches and islands of the archipelago. Come home to a hammock, a cold drink and the sea moving beneath the floorboards. Downtown is a seven-minute stroll away whenever you want it.

The water starts where the deck ends. Climb down for a morning swim, float until you have had enough, then dry off in a hammock with the islands on the horizon.

A note from Michelle

Welcome to Boathouse Bungalows by the Sea.

We are small on purpose: three bungalows, one boathouse and a garden between them, right on the water and a short walk from town. There is no lobby and no front desk, just a gate, a path and the sea.

We live nearby, and our manager is on hand day to day to help you settle in, point you to the best snorkeling of the week, or book you a boat out to Zapatilla. The rest, from the hammocks to the ladder off the deck to the sunsets from the upper deck, is yours to enjoy at your own pace.

Q: Do you offer monthly rates?

In low season, yes: $800 for the Yellow or Orange Bungalow and $1,000 for the Purple Bungalow per complete 30-night block. Extra nights after a full block are charged at the low-season nightly rate. Monthly bookings are not available in high season.
